Is SMS killing the Language?
1) What did Dr K.K. Seet think of students using the SMS language in their schoolwork and teacher-pupil relationship?
Answer: Dr K.K. Seet think of student using the SMS language in their school work lack of etiquette. He also believe there should be a certain degree of social decorum and such SMS language takes the student - teacher relationship to a level of casualness which he do not like.
2) What feedback did Mrs Adrienne Pereira give on SMS language being shown over national TV?
Answer: She think that SMS language repeatedly screened in the SMS bar during weekly episodes of American Idol on Channel 5, which she think is a signal that using a massacred form of the english is tolerated and accepted. She feedback that such messages should not be broadcast on national TV as an English-Language station should promote good english.
3) Why do you think Nicholas spelt "rocks" as "rawks"?
Answer: I think partly is because of habit, and he feel that the creative spelling makes the words more aesthetically pleasing hence that make him spelt "rocks" as "rawks".
4) How did Nicholas's mother react to her son's using SMS language?Give her constrasting views.
Answer: Nicholas's mother thinks that it is the in thing for teenagers who are used to these short forms, hence she did not react anything to her son's using SMS language. She thinks when they start writing, they know they have to use good english.
